What lies ahead

Environmental sustainability is just one of the pillars of sustainable development.

Without neglecting this aspect, the TCU intends to put in efforts towards promoting social sustainability.

In this regard, work is planned to verify the capacity of public organizations to comply with the provisions of article 25, paragraph 9, of the New Brazilian Acquisition Law.

This article establishes quotas in outsourcing contracts entered into between the Government and its suppliers, reserving places for women victims of domestic violence and for former prisoners.

It is a social development policy implemented through the Acquisition Law, using the State's purchasing power to direct market behavior and stimulate the adoption of socially sustainable practices.

The objective of this action is to identify the main barriers to its implementation and propose measures to overcome them so that the results intended by the legislation are achieved.
