The transition to a clean and sustainable energy matrix is crucial for combating climate change and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Here you will find tools and resources to help audit and monitor the energy transition in various regions worldwide. We explore the necessary actions to transform our energy matrix into a more sustainable alternative, while also addressing the challenges of implementing effective policies. We also showcase practical outcomes from the Federal Court of Accounts of Brazil (TCU) in leading this effort.
Join us on this journey to drive a successful and sustainable energy transition.
know moreEnergy Transition is transforming the global energy system, moving away from fossil and polluting sources to renewable and sustainable alternatives. This process includes promoting clean energy, improving energy efficiency, and adopting new technologies to manage energy resources more smartly and sustainably. It is an essential measure to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
To ensure that this transition is successful, we need to carefully evaluate the practices and policies adopted. In this context, auditing plays a crucial role, helping to verify whether strategies are working as they should, identifying areas that need improvement, and ensuring that new technologies and approaches are aligned with best practices and global sustainability goals.

The WGEI promotes cooperation among Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to audit and improve energy and environmental policies, with a focus on oil, natural gas, and solid minerals sectors. The TCU has played a significant role in these initiatives, leading discussions and contributing to the strengthening of global energy policies. One of its main contributions was conducting an international survey involving 25 countries, identifying the main challenges and best practices of SAIs in auditing Energy Transition. This survey provided a comprehensive overview of how audit institutions are monitoring this process and identifying areas for improvement.
